Thakur Foundation announces a grant to the Centre for Mental Health Law & Policy, Indian Law Society, Pune to establish a repository of information to support the Central and State Governments in the implementation of the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017, India Mental Health Policy, 2014, Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and other state-led policy initiatives such as the District Mental Health Program to be named India Mental Health Observatory (IMHO).

IMHO will develop an institutional mechanism to collaborate with a range of stakeholders including policymakers, mental health professionals and civil society to collect and collate data, research and metrics on mental health services at the national, state and district level with the goal of promoting evidence-based policymaking for bridging systemic gaps in the provision of mental health services and advancing mental health in India.
